Beside her, Mihail was a pillar of strength, his dark hair whipped by the spring breeze, his blue eyes unwavering as they met Vladislaus’s predatory gaze.

“You think this trinket can save you, girl?” Vladislaus sneered, his voice a silken whisper laced with venom. He was a figure sculpted from shadow, his presence radiating an ancient, malevolent power. His fangs glinted as he smiled, a cruel curve that promised only pain. “You are but a flicker in the darkness, and I shall snuff you out.”

Amani’s breath hitched. The weight of his words, the sheer arrogance radiating from him, threatened to crush her.
