The air in the village square crackled with an energy that was both terrifying and exhilarating. Elara stood at the heart of it, the Midnight Bloom clutched in her trembling hands. Its petals, once the deepest indigo, now pulsed with an ethereal luminescence, casting a vibrant, otherworldly glow that pushed back the oppressive darkness. The light was not merely visual; it was a tangible force, a warmth that seeped into the very bones of the villagers who huddled together, their faces etched with a mixture of awe and terror.
Beside her, Kael’s hand rested on her arm, a silent anchor in the swirling chaos. His usual skepticism had been replaced by a fierce protectiveness, his eyes, wide and unblinking, fixed on the encroaching gloom.
