Picnic by the Dunes
A simple picnic lunch. Lily shares stories of her mermaid adventures. Sarah packs extra snacks, always prepared, her love a warm blanket against the sea breeze.
The sun, a benevolent eye in the vast blue, cast a warm glow over the dunes. Sarah spread the checkered blanket, its familiar pattern a comforting anchor against the shifting sands. Beside her, Lily, a splash of iridescent green from her mermaid swimsuit, was already arranging a collection of seashells, her heart-shaped sunglasses perched precariously on her nose.
“Mama, look! This one looks like a tiny castle for a sea prince!” Lily’s voice, bright as a sunbeam, chirped. She held up a spiral shell, its pearly interior catching the light.
Sarah smiled, a gentle warmth unfurling in her chest. “It’s beautiful, sweetheart. Perhaps a king’s crown?”
