Her first encounter was with a brook, not one of the babbling, cheerful streams that laced the outskirts of her village, but a wider, deeper body of water that flowed with a quiet, determined grace. Its surface was like polished obsidian, reflecting the emerald canopy above with startling clarity. As Elara approached, a figure emerged from the mist that clung to the water’s edge, a woman whose presence was as serene as the brook itself. She was cloaked in shades of twilight blue, her silver hair braided with reeds, and her eyes held the calm depth of a hidden pool.

“Lost, little hunter?” the woman’s voice was like the gentle murmur of the water, soothing and melodic.
