Nathan writes down everything he knows about the mirror's traps, then calls Owen to win back his trust. The man tries to stop him through reflections, but Nathan retrieves the hidden letter and convinces Owen to help him undo the final favor at the school event.

Nathan's fingers brushed the letters in his pocket as he walked down the stairs. His mother stood at the bottom, worry etched into her face. Daniel's car pulled away outside.
"I'm going to fix it," Nathan had said. Now he had to mean it.
He kissed his mother's cheek. "I'm tired. Going to bed early."
