The arena, moments before a tempest of fire and water, a clash of roaring flames and surging tides, now held a stunned silence. The last vestiges of the shadow creature dissolved into wisps of nothingness, leaving behind only the faint scent of ozone and a profound sense of relief. Mia and Rylee, their faces streaked with grime and exhaustion, stood back-to-back, their chests heaving. In its place, a new understanding bloomed, fragile and precious.
