What had moments before been a chaotic symphony of screams, clashing steel, and the ethereal hum of the Lunar Bloom now settled into a hushed, ragged silence. The Obsidian Hand, so formidable, so absolute in their ambition, were broken. Scattered. Their leader, Silas Vane, was no more, his dark aspirations extinguished with the dying embers of the Bloom’s celestial light. I stood, my limbs trembling, the weight of what had transpired pressing down on me, a physical ache in my chest.

Kael was beside me, his armor scuffed and dented, his face a mask of exhaustion and grim satisfaction. He had fought like a lion, a true knight, his disgrace a forgotten whisper in the face of his valor. He met my gaze, and in his eyes, I saw not just the weariness of battle, but a flicker of something akin to peace. It was a peace I had only just begun to find myself.

The Silver Nightshades, their petals now a dull, faded silver, lay scattered around us, their brief, potent reign over.
