The air thinned with every step, each breath a victory against the biting wind that whipped around the mountain’s jagged crown. And in the center of it all, bathed in an ethereal, pulsating silver light, bloomed the impossible.

My heart hammered against my ribs, a frantic bird trapped in a cage of bone. This was it. The culmination of dusty scrolls and hushed legends, the object of shadowed quests and whispered fears.
