The air in the hidden chamber felt thick, as if centuries of dust had coalesced into a tangible presence. It clung to my skin, a silent testament to the forgotten lore it guarded. I traced the worn symbols etched into the stone tablet, the same symbols that had haunted my dreams since I first stumbled upon the ancient prophecy. The Lunar Bloom. A centennial event, a convergence of celestial energies and terrestrial magic, capable of bestowing unparalleled power. And it was coming.

A flicker of movement at the edge of my vision drew me from my contemplation. Kael stood near the entrance, his silhouette a stark contrast against the faint luminescence filtering from the tunnel behind us. He was a creature of shadow even in the dim light, his armor dulled by travel and, I suspected, by the weight of his own past. He’d been quiet for a long time, his gaze fixed on something I couldn't discern in the gloom.

"You’re lost in thought," he finally said, his voice a low rumble that seemed to vibrate through the very stone beneath our feet.
