The Oracle’s chamber, carved from a single, colossal geode that pulsed with a soft, inner luminescence, had yielded its secret. The riddle, a tapestry of starlight and whispered wind, had unraveled not into a geographical location, but into a challenge of the spirit. Elara, Finn, and Kael stood at the threshold of a newly opened passage, a yawning maw of absolute darkness that seemed to swallow the very light from the geode’s walls.
“This is it,” Finn breathed, his voice a low hum against the expectant silence. “The Oracle said the path to the Steed lies through trials that test the heart.”
Elara nodded, her gaze fixed on the impenetrable blackness. A shiver, unrelated to the chill of the cavern, traced its way down her spine. A sense of unease, a familiar companion to her bravery, settled in her gut. “And what kind of heart-testing involves… this?” She gestured towards the void.
