Within Veridia, they consult the city's wise Oracle. She presents them with a riddle tied to the steed's nature, a test of wisdom that requires them to decipher ancient symbols and understand the true meaning of unity.
The great hall of Veridia pulsed with a gentle, emerald light, emanating from the very stones of the city. Waterfalls, impossibly suspended in the air, cascaded silently down walls carved from living crystal, their spray catching the light and scattering it into a million dancing rainbows. Elara, Finn, and Kael stood before a raised dais where, seated on a throne woven from moonlight and moss, was the Oracle. Her eyes, ancient and deep as the star-dusted sky, regarded them with an unnerving calm.
“You seek the Lumina Steed,” her voice was like the chime of distant bells, soft yet resonant. It seemed to echo not just in the hall, but within their very bones. “The whispers of the wind have carried your intentions, the echoes in the ice have sung your names. But the path to the Steed is not trodden by foot alone.”
Elara, ever the first to speak, stepped forward, her heart thrumming a nervous rhythm against her ribs. “Great Oracle, our world fades. The shadow grows bolder with each passing moon. We must find the Lumina Steed, for the legends say it alone can push back the darkness.” Her voice, though steady, carried the weight of her unspoken fear – the fear that despite her bravery, she might not be enough.
