Alpha Kael’s rage was a storm brewing behind his eyes, a tempest that threatened to consume the very air in his den. Lillie, the omega he had so carelessly abused, the one he had kept hidden and broken, had escaped. Not only escaped, but revealed. The whispers that had slithered through the Black Pine Pack, once mere murmurs of discontent, had erupted into a roar of disbelief and, for some, a dangerous flicker of hope. He paced the confines of his study, the polished wood of his desk a stark contrast to the turmoil churning within him. His scarred hand, the one that bore the mark of a past encounter he’d long buried, clenched and unclenched at his side. He knew, with a certainty that chilled him to the bone, that Lillie’s escape was no accident. It was a consequence. A consequence of his own arrogance, his own cruelty.

He had underestimated her. He had dismissed her as just another omega, easily controlled, easily broken. But Lillie, it seemed, possessed a resilience that defied his understanding. And now, she was with *them*. The Blue Moon Pack. Luca. The name itself was a bitter taste on Kael’s tongue. Luca, with his pristine reputation, his unwavering sense of justice, his pack’s unwavering loyalty to the Hazelwood royals. The thought of Lillie, the embodiment of his secrets, being in Luca’s protective embrace fueled Kael’s fury. He couldn’t allow it. If Lillie’s true identity was fully revealed, if she was accepted and embraced by the royal pack, it would not only expose his own transgressions but would shatter the fragile power he held over the Black Pine.

He slammed his fist onto the desk, the sound echoing through the silent room. He had to act. He couldn't let this fester. He wouldn't let Lillie’s survival be the undoing of his reign. He needed to reclaim her, to silence her, to make her disappear again, this time permanently. The thought was a dark, seductive whisper in the back of his mind, promising an end to his fear.
