No Answer
Mother Polar Bear calls again, her voice filled with growing concern. Still, there's no sign of Pinky. The vast, white emptiness feels suddenly menacing.
The vast expanse of snow and ice, usually a playground of soft whites and dazzling blues under the Arctic sun, seemed to hold its breath. Mother Polar Bear stood at the edge of the familiar territory, her great white fur blending almost perfectly with the landscape, making her seem like a ghost of worry. Her heart, usually a steady drumbeat of love for her little cub, was now a frantic, thrumming thing. She lifted her head, her sensitive nose twitching, trying to catch even the faintest scent of her playful daughter, of the sweet, innocent smell that always clung to Pinky.
"Pinky!" she called again, her voice a low, resonant rumble that echoed across the frozen plains. It was a sound usually filled with warmth and affection, but now, a desperate edge had crept in. "Pinky, where are you, my little snowdrop?"
The wind, a fickle companion in this land, whispered its own chilling reply, rustling the snow and carrying no answer but the mournful sigh of the Arctic. Mother Polar Bear strained her ears, listening with every fiber of her being. She scanned the horizon, her sharp eyes, accustomed to spotting the slightest movement, piercing the distance. There was nothing. Only the endless, shimmering white, stretching out like a vast, empty canvas where her precious Pinky should have been.
