The stories, once dismissed as fanciful folklore, had taken on a terrifying urgency. A creature of ice and light, capable of melting into the snow as if it were water, leaving behind only a faint shimmer, a dusting of iridescent particles that glittered like fallen stars. Tales of livestock vanishing without a trace, of solitary hunters returning with tales of shimmering forms glimpsed at the edge of vision, their words laced with a fear that chilled deeper than any frost. And now, the chilling confirmation: the Crystal Lizard was here, in their valley, its presence a tangible weight in the air.
