The library, usually a haven of hushed whispers and rustling pages, had taken on a new kind of hum. It wasn't the boisterous energy of the playground, but a focused, almost electric buzz, like a hive of very busy, very quiet bees. Tables were littered with open books, half-eaten apples, and the occasional glimmer of a miniature LED light. Lily, perched on her usual stool, felt a pleasant warmth radiating from her own expanding pile of notes and diagrams. Her plant growth experiment was coming along splendidly.
