The golden light from the tunnel entrance spilled across the cavern floor, casting long shadows behind Maya, Alex, and Ben. The thing that wore Chloe's face had dissolved like smoke, leaving only the echo of its warning and the cold weight of Chloe's flashlight in Maya's hand.
Ben stared at the tunnel, his usual joking demeanor stripped away. "So we just... walk into the glowing death hole?"
