A Challenge Issued
Scar's guttural roar shatters the valley's peace. He confronts Fang, his scarred visage a testament to countless battles. The challenge is clear: dominance over the valley and Luna.
The air, usually so still and sweet with the scent of ancient ferns and damp earth, tore apart. It was a sound that clawed at the very bones, a guttural, ragged roar that vibrated through Fang’s powerful frame and made the fur along his spine prickle with primal alarm. Luna, nestled beside him, her belly a gentle swell beneath his gaze, stirred instantly, her ears swiveling, her emerald eyes wide with a dawning dread.
Fang rose, a magnificent shadow against the dappled sunlight filtering through the canopy. Every muscle coiled, every sinew taut. He knew that sound. He had heard its echoes in the biting winds and the desolate plains of his solitary wanderings, a sound of raw, unbridled aggression. Scar. The name was a curse whispered on the wind, a phantom of Fang’s past.
Emerging from the dense undergrowth at the valley’s edge, a hulking silhouette against the bruised sky, was Scar. He was a beast forged in conflict, his once pristine coat a tapestry of old wounds and faded scars. The most prominent, a jagged line that bisected his left eye, gave him his name and a perpetual sneer that twisted his formidable muzzle. His amber eyes, burning with a malevolent intensity, fixed immediately on Fang, then flickered, possessively, to Luna.
