Chapter 16
Echoes of the Past

He was a father, a protector, a king in his own secret kingdom.
Luna stirred, her golden eyes blinking open. They met Fang’s, a silent communication passing between them, a language of shared survival and burgeoning love. She stretched, a languid, graceful movement that rippled through her powerful frame, and then nudged one of the cubs with her nose. The little one, a female with eyes already the color of molten gold, squirmed and let out a tiny, protesting mewl.
