Kael watched the impossible. He’d always been the one to ask ‘why?’ and ‘how?’ when Elara spoke of the swirling images and the heavy feelings that settled in her chest. He’d poked and prodded at the edges of her visions, trying to find the seams where reality might unravel, where a trick of the light or a whispered dream might explain the vast, terrifying knowledge that had descended upon them all.
