Chapter 6
First Encounters
Curious, timid creatures emerge from the shadows. Milly's empathy is piqued, while Kevin's playful nature gets the better of him, leading to a playful chase.

Kelly nudged her cub gently, a low rumble in her chest. "Stay close, little one. We don't know what lies beyond the light." She held the flashlight, its beam a feeble defiance against the encroaching darkness, casting dancing shadows that seemed to deepen the mystery. The glow illuminated patches of phosphorescent moss clinging to the walls, casting an ethereal, soft green light that pulsed with a life of its own. Strange, crystalline formations jutted from the ceiling and floor, catching the light and scattering it into a thousand tiny rainbows.
