Chapter Four had ended with the tantalizing implication of the “Rosetta Sequence,” a phrase that had resonated in her mind like a half-forgotten melody. Now, in the quiet solitude of her apartment, a place that had always been her sanctuary, the silence felt charged, expectant.
She’d spent the better part of the night hunched over her workstation, the glow of multiple monitors casting an ethereal light on her focused features. Professor Finch’s name had surfaced during her frantic cross-referencing, a ghost from her academic past. His lectures on ancient ciphers and lost languages had been the spark that ignited her passion for cryptography, his wisdom a guiding star in her early career.
