The air within the labyrinth hummed with a new kind of energy, a playful, restless current that tugged at Elara’s hair and whispered secrets against her ear. It felt familiar, like a melody half-remembered, a scent carried on a breeze from a place she once knew. She’d been walking for what felt like hours, the shifting walls of the maze a constant, disorienting presence. Each turn had led to another, each corridor a promise of discovery that dissolved into a further enigma. The stone underfoot was smooth and cool, worn by countless feet, yet the walls themselves seemed to breathe, their textures rippling like water.

Then, it happened. A swirl of golden motes coalesced before her, shimmering like captured sunlight. They spun faster, coalescing into a form, a silhouette of pure, vibrant air. It coalesced into the semblance of a woman, though she was more wind than flesh, her form constantly shifting, her laughter like the rustle of leaves. It was Whisperwind.

“Elara!” the voice chimed, a cascade of bells and breezes. “You wander so aimlessly, like a lost kite! Come, come, the maze has so much more to show you than just endless stone.”
