Malik Jackson, now known as Shift, felt the familiar hum of Echo resonating within him, a comforting counterpoint to the cacophony of the deep-space relay station’s final transmission. The static had faded, replaced by a pregnant silence that pressed in on the four members of The Klik gathered in their mobile base, The Pocket. The distress signal, originating from Station Theta-X, had been a chilling echo of their own recent victory against the Void, a stark reminder that their fight was far from over.
Kareem, his fingers dancing across the holographic interface, shook his head. "That was… unsettling. No recognizable energy signatures, no known ship classes. Just… tearing. Like something was ripping reality apart from the inside." His brow was furrowed, the usual spark of scientific curiosity replaced by a grim concern.
Aqua, her movements fluid and graceful even in their confined space, wrung her hands. "They were so… desperate. And then, nothing. As if the signal itself was swallowed."
