Chapter 11
Kareem's Counter-Offensive
Kareem works to develop new technology based on the Theta-X data, aiming to create countermeasures against the Void's dimensional breaching abilities. His progress is hampered by the entity's evolving tactics.
Kareem’s fingers danced across the holographic interface, a blur of motion against the cool, sterile glow of The Pocket. Data streams, once vibrant with the frantic, dying echoes of Station Theta-X, now flickered with a chillingly methodical precision. Static had given way to analysis, panic to calculation. He’d spent the last cycle, and then some, hunched over consoles, fueled by lukewarm nutrient paste and a gnawing dread that settled deeper with every passing hour. The transmission, raw and unfiltered, had been a punch to the gut, a stark reminder that their victory over the Void had been, perhaps, just a temporary reprieve.

Kareem pushed a stray lock of dark hair from his forehead, his eyes gritty. “It’s… fragmented. The Void’s attack on Theta-X wasn’t just brute force. They’re evolving. Adapting their breaching methods.” He gestured to a complex three-dimensional schematic blooming in the air. “The initial breach was a brute-force tear, similar to what we encountered. But the later stages… they’re using something else. A resonance frequency, almost. It’s like they’re singing their way through dimensional barriers.”
