The grand hall of Eldoria Castle, once a vibrant heart pulsing with laughter and the clinking of goblets, now felt like a tomb. Tapestries depicting brave knights and bountiful harvests hung limp and dusty, mirroring the kingdom’s own fading glory. King Theron, cloaked in a regal robe that seemed to swallow him whole, sat upon his throne. His eyes, once warm pools of sapphire, were now sharp, restless chips of ice, darting from shadow to shadow. He clutched the arms of his throne, his knuckles white, as if the very wood could offer him solace.

Before him, arrayed in a somber semicircle, stood his most trusted advisors. Lord Valerius, his silver hair a stark contrast to his worried frown, cleared his throat. "Your Majesty," he began, his voice a low rumble, "we have brought the… individual you requested. He is here, as you commanded."

Theron’s gaze snapped towards the entrance. A nervous tremor ran through his body. He expected a hulking beast, a monstrous spy sent to infiltrate his court. Instead, two guards, their faces etched with confusion, escorted a small, hunched figure. It was Gribble, the goblin. He shuffled forward, his green skin glistening under the torchlight, his beady eyes wide with a mixture of fear and sheer, unadulterated mischief. He wore a tattered tunic and carried a sack slung over his shoulder, from which a faint, earthy aroma wafted. He didn't bow, but instead, gave a little hop, his pointed ears twitching.
