Alex faces an impossible decision: retreat into the safety of Aetheria, leaving the real world to its fate, or fight, risking his very existence to save both realms.
The air in Alex’s room crackled, not with the usual hum of his gaming rig, but with an ozone tang that prickled his nostrils. Outside, the sky had bled from a bruised twilight to a swirling vortex of impossible colours, mirroring the frantic, pixelated chaos unfolding on his monitor. Aetheria. It was no longer confined to the glowing screen. It was here, seeping into his reality like spilled ink.
He stared at the flickering image of OP2F63, his avatar, standing defiantly on a crystalline precipice. Behind him, the world of Aetheria shimmered, a breathtaking tapestry of impossible architecture and vibrant, alien flora. But a jagged tear, a wound in the fabric of this digital utopia, pulsed with malevolent energy. That tear was ZGQdcrG’s doing, a harbinger of the destruction he intended to unleash.
“This is it, Alex,” a voice rasped, tinny and distorted, from his headset. It was vanlamb, their usual playful taunt replaced by a grim urgency. “The convergence point. ZGQdcrG is tearing down the walls. He’s not just breaking Aetheria anymore. He’s breaking *everything*.”
