Amina's Nokia Epiphany

Amina watched Chinedu from across the bustling Lagos cafe, a faint smile playing on her lips. He was, as always, oblivious to the digital hum that vibrated through the room – the tapping of fingers on glass screens, the soft ping of notifications, the hushed tones of video calls. Chinedu, meanwhile, was engaged in a vigorous game of Snake, his brow furrowed in concentration, the iconic Nokia 3310 a sturdy, unyielding presence in his palm. He’d just achieved a new personal best, a triumphant grin spreading across his face as the game ended.

“Chinedu!” Amina called out, her voice cutting through the ambient noise.

He looked up, his eyes, usually bright with mischief, now crinkling at the corners. “Amina! You made it! I was about to send you a ‘Please Call Me Back’ if you were any later.” He held up the Nokia, its monochrome screen glowing softly.
