The air in the hidden ravine grew heavy, a tangible thing that pressed against Nagayanah’s lungs. It tasted of dust and something acrid, a far cry from the crisp, pine-scented breath of her own world. Beside her, Kael gnawed on a strip of dried meat, his brow furrowed as he scanned the jagged peaks that clawed at the bruised twilight sky. Lyra, perched on a moss-covered boulder, traced patterns in the dirt with a slender finger, her usual bright aura dimmed by the encroaching gloom.

“It’s getting worse,” Kael grunted, his voice raspy. “The whispers… they’re louder now. Not just from the wind, but from the very stone.”

Nagayanah nodded, her gaze fixed on the valley below. The shadows there seemed to writhe, coalescing into darker, more substantial forms. The Shadow Weaver’s influence was a poison seeping into the land, and she could feel its tendrils reaching, seeking to ensnare even the most resilient of spirits. She felt it as a dull ache in her own soul, a discord that mirrored the growing unease in the natural world.
