The air, once vibrant with the hum of unseen life, now carried a discordant note. It was a subtle shift at first, a tremor felt more in the marrow of Nagayanah’s bones than in her ears. The rustling leaves no longer sang a song of peace, but a frantic, worried murmur. The earth beneath her bare feet, usually a comforting pulse, felt sluggish, burdened.
