Chapter 2
Whispers in the Walls
Strange occurrences plague the apartment after the box's arrival. Objects shift, faint whispers echo, and a palpable chill permeates the air. Maya, observing the escalating events, begins to suspect the box is the source, noticing odd correlations.
The ornate box sat on the coffee table, an incongruous splash of dark, polished wood amidst the usual detritus of college life – stray socks, textbooks, and a half-eaten pizza box. Liam, ever the most sensitive to atmospheric shifts, had been the first to voice his unease. Noah, who had been engrossed in a video game, finally looked up, a flicker of concern crossing his usually placid features. "Dude, you sure you didn't knock it over?"
"Positive," Liam insisted, running a trembling finger over the jagged
