The air in my small study hummed, not with the frantic buzz of a trapped bee, but with a deeper, more resonant vibration, like the low thrum of a cello string plucked with exquisite care. Sunlight, filtered through the lace curtains, dappled the worn oak of my desk, illuminating the open pages of the Grimoire. Today, my focus was on a particular potion, one that promised not to conjure thunder or summon storms, but something far more potent, far more subtle: the strength of serenity.

Flicker, perched on the spine of the Grimoire, chirped with an almost impatient energy. "Patience, Elara, patience! The dewdrop waits for no one, yet it holds the sun in its tiny eye!" Their voice, a cascade of tinkling bells, always managed to both amuse and ground me.

I smiled, though my brow was furrowed in concentration. "And what if the dewdrop is impatient, Flicker? What if it feels the sun is too slow to warm it?"
