Chapter 5

Bentley's Bewildering Blueprint

The clue from the laundry room is a faded, complex diagram that looks like a blueprint of the mansion's extensive gardens. Bentley, finally interested, takes charge, his logical mind attempting to decipher the intricate lines and symbols. He declares it points to a specific, secluded rose garden. He leads the group, armed with his interpretation, but his dry, analytical approach fails to account for Aunt Carol's playful nature. They end up digging in the wrong spot, unearthing a buried collection of rubber chickens, and getting thoroughly muddied. Arguments erupt as Louie insists Bentley is wrong, Ariana is convinced they've disturbed a grumpy gnome, and Meah tries to mediate the escalating chaos.
