Chapter 19
A New Beginning
Back in the city, Jhon's perspective is altered. He sees his life not as mundane, but as a canvas for new adventures, with Bob by his side.
The familiar clang of the bus door closing behind him was, for once, not a sound of defeat, but of possibility. Jhon leaned his forehead against the cool glass of the window, the rumble of the engine a surprisingly comforting lullaby. He usually sat as far away from Bob as possible on the bus, a self-imposed exile born of a fear he couldn't quite articulate. But today, with his car dead and his usual escape routes closed, Jhon found himself gravitating towards the familiar warmth of Bob’s presence.
He navigated the narrow aisle, his movements a little clumsy, a stark contrast to the effortless grace he imagined Bob possessed. He paused beside Bob’s seat, a nervous smile playing on his lips. “Hey, Bob,” he said, his voice a little huskier than he intended.
