Acts of Kindness

Jhon and Bob demonstrate their good hearts by helping the creature, showing respect and care, which pleases the guardian.

The air in the Glimmering Cave had a peculiar hum to it, like a thousand tiny bells chiming just at the edge of hearing. Jhon, still a little breathless from their recent escape, found himself staring at the creature. It was small, no bigger than a loaf of bread, with fur the color of twilight and eyes like polished obsidian. It lay curled on a bed of moss, one of its delicate, translucent wings bent at an awkward, unnatural angle. Jhon felt a pang of something akin to sorrow. It looked so… fragile.

Bob, ever the practical one, was already kneeling beside the creature. "Poor thing," he murmured, his voice soft. "Looks like it’s hurt itself." He reached out a tentative finger, hovering just above the injured wing.

Jhon watched, a knot of apprehension tightening in his stomach. They'd faced challenges in this cave, riddles and guardians. But this felt different. This was a tiny life, broken. He remembered the guardian’s words, about respect and care.
