The shrill wail of sirens tore through the humid Atlanta night, a familiar, unwelcome symphony that had become the soundtrack to their lives. Kamari gripped the steering wheel, knuckles white, as Omar navigated the flashing red and blue lights through the maze of campus roads. Another one. The words hung heavy in the air between them, unspoken but understood. The third victim. The killer wasn’t just bold; they were escalating, and the clock was ticking louder than ever.
“Anything?” Kamari’s voice was tight, strained.
Omar shook his head, his gaze fixed on the flickering strobes ahead. “Dispatch is keeping it tight. Just that it’s on campus, near the student union. And it’s bad, K.”
