The fluorescent lights of the precinct hummed, a sterile counterpoint to the churning chaos in Kamari’s gut. Another body. Another Spellman student. This time, it was a promising young dancer, found in the darkened wings of the campus theater. The precision of the wound, the staging of the scene – it was a chilling echo of the previous murders, a signature growing bolder, more defiant with each passing victim. Kamari traced the outline of a faded scar on her forearm, a phantom ache rippling through her. The premonitions, once fleeting whispers at the edge of her consciousness, were now a deafening roar, a cacophony of fragmented images and suffocating dread.

“Anything, Omar?” Kamari’s voice was rough, scraped raw from too little sleep and too much adrenaline. She watched her twin meticulously bag a shard of what looked like shattered glass, his brow furrowed in concentration. Omar, ever the anchor, the bastion of logic in their shared storm.

Omar shook his head, his gaze never leaving the evidence bag. “Same MO, Kamari. Clean, precise. No forced entry, no signs of struggle. It’s like they just… invited their killer in.” He sighed, the sound heavy with frustration. “Forensics are still processing the scene. They found trace amounts of a rare botanical compound on the victim’s dress. Something exotic, apparently. Not something you’d find at your local CVS.”
