Chapter 4
Whispers from the Void
A sinister entity, the Shadow Weaver, senses Loyed's immense, untamed power. It emerges from the darkness, a cunning manipulator seeking to corrupt the vessel and twist his abilities to serve its own ancient, malevolent agenda.
The air crackled, not with the joyous energy of a summer storm, but with a cold, malevolent hum that seeped into the very marrow of the world. It was a sound that had been absent for eons, a forgotten whisper from the primordial void, now stirring in response to a nascent power. The Shadow Weaver, a being woven from absence and the echoes of forgotten fears, felt it. It felt the raw, untamed surge of the four elements bound within a single, fragile mortal. He was trying to coax a small flame from his fingertips, a simple warmth to ward off the encroaching dusk, but his hand trembled, the nascent fire flickering like a dying ember, then extinguishing with a puff of smoke that smelled vaguely of despair.
“Come on,” he muttered, frustration coiling in his gut. He closed his eyes, picturing Ignis’s fiery essence, the boundless energy that danced in the god’s ancient eyes. He imagined the heat, the vibrant crimson and gold. But instead of a steady flame, a burst of uncontrolled sparks erupted, searing a small circle into the mossy ground. He yelped, scrambling back. The earth beneath his feet rumbled, a deep, resonant groan that felt like Terra’s displeasure. He’d been trying to steady himself, to ground himself, but his panic had only served to agitate the very soil.
