Chapter 8
The Imposter's Glitch
During a particularly absurd confrontation, the imposter Sacry briefly shows a flicker of the real Sacry's personality. This moment of vulnerability makes Antoinette question if Sacry is truly evil.
Antoinette, a woman whose internal monologue was often louder than any external sound, found herself in the midst of a situation that was rapidly escalating from "mildly disconcerting" to "full-blown existential crisis, with sprinkles." The imposter Sacry, currently demonstrating an unnerving ability to juggle flaming pineapples while reciting Shakespeare in iambic pentameter, was, frankly, making Antoinette’s head spin. This was not the Sacry who once tripped over her own feet while trying to tie her shoelaces and ended up with a face full of flour. This was… too much.
"Honestly, Sacry," Antoinette declared, her voice a dramatic tremor that she hoped conveyed both gravitas and a hint of impending doom, "must you be so… accomplished? It’s practically an insult to the rest of us mere mortals who occasionally burn toast."
The imposter Sacry, with a smile that was as radiant as a freshly polished disco ball, caught a falling pineapple with a flourish. "My dear Antoinette," she purred, her voice like honey laced with something vaguely metallic, "is it not a joy to witness such effortless mastery? To see potential fulfilled, dreams realized, and perhaps, a perfectly caramelized banana tart emerge from the oven without a hint of scorching?"
