Chapter 50

Chapter 50: The Debt's Shadow

After the silver eye's threat, Elias, Anya, Lena, Lyra, the bartender, and the first gatekeeper regroup in the garden. They learn from the first gatekeeper that the eye belongs to the First Cost, an ancient entity that embodies the price of love and existence. The group decides to seek the child Maker's help, but she cannot intervene directly. Instead, she shows them a vision of a forgotten dimension where the debt was first incurred. They must travel there to break the loop. The chapter ends with them stepping through a new door into that unknown realm, leaving the garden behind.
