The Void-Eater breaks free from its prison on Veridia. Elias, Anya, and Lena confront it, using their bond and the golden key to try to force it to feel the pain it caused. The Void-Eater resists, feeding on their emotions and revealing a terrifying truth: it was once a gatekeeper like Elias, corrupted by its own loneliness. It opens a rift to consume the Unmaker's realm, forcing the trio to make a desperate choice. The chapter ends with Elias stepping into the rift alone, leaving Anya and Lena screaming his name.
The prison cracked like an eggshell, spilling darkness across the sky of Veridia. Elias felt the shift in the air—a sudden drop in temperature, a pressure against his chest. Beside him, Lena tensed, her fists already glowing with raw energy. Anya pressed closer, her hand finding his, her heart pounding against his palm.
“It’s coming,” Anya whispered.
And then the prison shattered.
