The Expulsion

Adam and Eve are cast out of Eden. The Creator's heart aches, their writing expressing the pain of separation and the irreversible consequences of their children's choice.

The garden gates, once so inviting and warm, now stood like stern sentinels, their pearly luminescence dimmed, casting long, mournful shadows across the dew-kissed grass. The air, so recently alive with birdsong and the gentle hum of creation, was now thick with a sorrow that pressed down like an unwelcome cloak. The Creator watched, a silent ache resonating through the very fabric of existence, as Adam and Eve, their faces etched with a confusion that warred with dawning comprehension, stepped across the threshold. The vibrant hues of Eden seemed to bleed away from their eyes, replaced by a muted, unfamiliar palette.

A single tear, shimmering like a captured star, traced a path down the Creator’s cheek, landing softly on the parchment before them. The quill, usually dancing with swift, joyful strokes, now trembled in their hand.

*My dearest children,* the letter began, the ink spreading like a bruise on the page. *The gates are closed. The scent of the blossoms you once knew so intimately will fade from your senses, replaced by the tang of the wild earth. This is not a punishment, though it feels like one, does it not? It is a consequence. A consequence of a choice made, a path taken, a whisper heeded over a loving counsel.*
