Galactic Patrol on the Horizon
A stern Galactic Patrol ship is detected approaching. Barnaby and Zorp must work faster to repair the ship and conceal Zorp's presence before they are discovered. The tension mounts.
The hum of the nebula-cleaning drone, usually a comforting lullaby to Barnaby’s quiet existence, suddenly felt like a death knell. It was a low, resonant thrum that vibrated through the worn wooden floorboards of The Galactic Brew, a sound that had always heralded peace, but now, it was a harbinger of doom. Barnaby, who had been meticulously polishing a collection of chipped porcelain teacups, froze mid-wipe. His knuckles, usually a soft pink, were now bone-white against the delicate china.
“Did you hear that?” he whispered, his voice barely a breath.
Zorp, who had been engaged in a surprisingly intense staring contest with Bartholomew the biscuit dispenser, straightened up. Their large, obsidian eyes, usually full of an almost childlike wonder, now held a flicker of something Barnaby recognized as pure, unadulterated panic. Bartholomew, in response to the sudden shift in atmosphere, let out a disgruntled whirring sound and dispensed a particularly stale-looking crumpet.
