Accidental Artistry

Barnaby tries to help with flower pollination but ends up creating abstract pollen art on a grumpy beetle. The beetle's outrage adds to Barnaby's reputation for accidental chaos.

Barnaby, bless his pollen-sensitive heart, was always eager to contribute. He’d watched the other bees, their fuzzy bodies dusted with gold, flitting from bloom to bloom, diligently performing their vital duty. He wanted to be a part of it, truly he did. He just wished his participation didn’t involve quite so much… explosive, sneeze-induced artistry.

Today’s task was simple: a gentle dusting of the stamens of the dewdrop daisies that grew near the hive’s entrance. The Queen had specifically assigned him this, a concession to his… unique talents. “Just a light touch, Barnaby,” she’d buzzed, her antennae twitching with a familiar blend of hope and apprehension. “No need to go overboard.”

Barnaby nodded vigorously, his wings buzzing with determination. “Overboard? Never, Your Majesty! I’ll be the epitome of pollen-precision!” He puffed out his chest, which, unfortunately, was already beginning to itch.
