The Archivist, a being of shifting light and whispered resonance, had begun to unfurl the story of the civilization that had birthed the cipher, a narrative far grander and more tragic than Aris had dared to imagine.

“They called themselves the Lumina,” the Archivist’s voice, a chorus of gentle chimes and rustling leaves, filled the space. “Masters of what you perceive as the fourth dimension, they saw it not as a realm to be conquered, but as an extension of existence, a canvas upon which to paint new realities.”

Aris leaned forward, his breath catching in his throat. The Lumina. The name itself felt ancient, imbued with a luminescence that contrasted sharply with the grim reality of their fate. He glanced at Silas, who stood by the doorway, his usual pragmatic skepticism warring with a dawning awe. Silas had seen enough in the past few days to question his own perceptions, and the Archivist’s presence, though unseen by Silas’s physical eyes, seemed to imbue the very air with an otherworldly presence that even Silas could not dismiss.
