The air in the glade grew thick with an unspoken understanding. The Sun Deer, her coat shimmering with the captured light of a thousand dawns, had retreated, leaving behind an echo of warmth and the faint scent of wild honeysuckle. Branden stood, the weight of the Sun Charm a comforting presence against his chest, its gentle pulse a silent reassurance. He looked to the Guardian Owl, whose ancient eyes seemed to pierce through the veil of his warrior’s stoicism, seeing the flicker of doubt he so carefully guarded.
"The Sun Deer spoke truly," the Owl hooted, his voice a low rumble that resonated deep within the ancient trees. "Her blessings are a balm, but they do not erase the wound that festers at the heart of this wood."
A quiet reverence settled over Branden. He had expected a battle, a clash of steel against shadow, but the forest presented a different kind of challenge, one that tested the very core of his being.
