The air in the dilapidated ruins was thick with the dust of forgotten ages, each particle a tiny testament to the eons that had passed since the Celestial Black Hole had held dominion. Shine, her star-spun hair catching the faint, ethereal glow that emanated from the crumbling architecture, traced a symbol etched into a massive, obsidian pillar. It was a spiral, elegant and ancient, a design she’d only ever seen depicted in the most sacred, and often forbidden, texts of her people. Beside her, Shade moved with a quiet grace that belied the rough terrain, his void-dark eyes scanning the surroundings with an intensity that always made her feel both seen and utterly safe.

“Do you feel it?” Shine whispered, her voice barely disturbing the stillness. “The… echo? It’s like the stones themselves are remembering.”

Shade nodded, his gaze fixed on a cluster of fallen fragments nearby. “It’s more than memory, Shine. It’s a presence. A stillness that speaks of immense power, and immense sorrow.” He reached out, his fingers hovering inches above a shard of what looked like solidified starlight. “This place… it was important. More than just a temple or a monument.”
