Chapter 7
THE CRISTAL CAVE
The sacred path began at the base of the mountain, where a small shrine marked the entrance – a circle of stones surrounding a cedar tree that had been carved with symbols of protection and strength. Mwari had walked with them this far, and now she placed her hand on each of their shoulders in blessing.
“The path will test you,” she said quietly. “It will challenge your strength, your courage, and your faith in each other. But remember – you do not walk this path alone. The spirits of the mountain are with you, as are the spirits of all those who have come before you and believed that the darkness could be overcome.”
She handed each of them a small bundle of dried herbs tied with red string. “Burn these when you reach the cave,” she said. “They will purify the air and prepare the way for you to take the crystal.”
