The salt spray, usually a bracing kiss on their faces, now carried a chilling dampness that seeped into their bones. It was more than just the usual coastal mist; it was heavy, laden with an unseen dread that clung to everything like a shroud. Liam squinted, his eyes, usually bright with the spark of his fire, now narrowed in frustration. They had thrown everything they had at the churning vortex that had erupted from the sea, a tempest of unnatural fury that defied the very laws of nature.

Rhett, his hands planted firmly on the earth, felt the tremors beneath his feet, a frantic pulse that mirrored the chaos above. He’d tried to anchor them, to create barriers of stone and soil, but the sea’s rage was a liquid fury that seeped through every crack, undermining his efforts. Karl’s lightning crackled around them, a desperate attempt to pierce the gloom, to shock the monstrous surge into submission. But the Seaq, whatever it was, seemed to absorb their attacks, to feed on their power. Jasper’s ice, usually a shield of crystalline strength, fractured and melted before it could even form a substantial barrier against the encroaching waves that clawed at the shore.

“It’s no use!” Liam yelled, his voice hoarse, the heat radiating from him a stark contrast to the frigid air. “It just… takes it.” He gestured wildly at the roiling mass, a dark, undulating heart of the storm. It wasn't a creature, not in any way they understood. It was a force, a hunger, a void that seemed to swallow their very intentions.
