The Ruby's Demise
Returning to Earth, Greg, Alex, and Flip confront Syp. Alex snatches and destroys the ruby necklace, defeating Syp, restoring planets, and bringing peace to the Solar System.
The hum of the transport chamber faded, replaced by a disorienting silence that felt heavier than any sound. Greg blinked, his eyes adjusting to the harsh, neon glare of Times Square. It was a familiar scene, yet utterly alien. The usual vibrant chaos of New Year's Eve had been replaced by a chilling tableau of destruction. Broken glass crunched under his boots, and the skeletal remains of storefronts stood like gaping wounds against the bruised sky. A sense of dread coiled in his stomach, a cold counterpoint to the burning urgency that had propelled them here.
"Where would you find a witch who's up to no good?" Alex’s voice, usually so steady, held a tremor of unease. Her eyes darted around, taking in the devastation.
Greg swallowed, the taste of ash and fear thick on his tongue. "I know where she is. Let's go to my house." The words felt hollow, a desperate grasp at familiarity in a world turned upside down. His house, once a sanctuary, now felt like a potential battleground.
