Chapter 34
Episode 34
Poetry part 4 My heartfelt poem in remembrance of Chief Bear Hunter and His Village brutally destroyed at the Bear River Massacre

A tale unfolds, a sorrow etched in time.
Chief Bear Hunter, his village, a tapestry of life,
Now a ghost in the valley, a silent, mournful rhyme.
The Bear River Massacre, a scar upon the land,
Where innocence was shattered, and hope turned to dust.
His people, vibrant, their spirits fierce and grand,
Met a brutal end, betrayed by misplaced trust.
The trappers' tread, a subtle, creeping tide,
Had stirred unease, a ripple in the stream.
But Bear Hunter, watchful, his people by his side,
Dreamed of peace, not this blood-soaked, waking dream.
